Seeking experienced Registered Midwives to work in a variety of roles at Newcastle Private Hospital Maternity. Flexible working available with Full-time and Part-time roles on offer. Work to suit you with opportunities across multiple areas including antenatal and postnatal wards, Maternity Assessment Unit, elective Caesarean lists, Birthing Suite OR in the Special Care Nursery.

Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking Registered Midwives to join our growing team, working across the Antenatal and Postnatal wards, in our Maternity Assessment Unit, Caesarean lists, Birthing Suites or with our babies in the Special Care Nursery. We have Full-time, Part-time and Casual work available.

We are a 189-bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospital has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15-bed Intensive Care Unit, plus a cardiac suite with a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16-bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite with 6 birthing suites and a Special Care Baby Nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region. Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for patients and their families, with both inpatient and day infusion options.

The Role

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Registered Midwife to join our team. We are looking for an experienced midwife who is committed to delivering woman-centred care across the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods. You will have the opportunity to work in our antenatal ward, Maternity Assessment Unit, Birthing Suites, Postnatal ward, Cesarean lists and/or in the Special Care Nursery.

To succeed in the role, you will bring a genuine interest in caring for women and their families through pregnancy, childbirth and postnatal care. You will be an experienced midwife with excellent communication skills and enjoy working in an inclusive environment that values diverse families.

Requirements

• Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife
• Current NSW Working with Children Check
• Minimum of 2 years' recent experience working as a Registered Midwife in similar roles
• Demonstrated ability to advocate for and implement individualised woman-centred care
• Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills
• Demonstrated professional manner in complex situations
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Flexibility to work a seven-day roster including night duty
• Basic computer skills

Our commitment to quality and safety for patients, staff and visitors is a priority. Applicants will be required to provide a current National Police check, WWCC (where applicable) and evidence of right to work in Australia prior to appointment. Staff in patient contact roles will be required to provide proof of immunity to specified infectious diseases as a Category A Healthcare worker.

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF NSW Nurses and Midwives' Enterprise Agreement , with a rate ranging from $35.46 - $49.79 per hour.
