Registered Manager - Children's Residential Home (EBD & LD)

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Manager to lead our children's residential home, providing high-quality, child-centred care for young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Learning Disabilities (LD). You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring it operates in full compliance with Ofsted and all relevant legislation, while creating a safe, nurturing and stable environment where children can thrive.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and develop the residential home in line with Ofsted regulations and organisational policies.
  • Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding, welfare and outcomes for children and young people.
  • Oversee care plans, risk assessments and behaviour management strategies, ensuring they are regularly reviewed and implemented in practice.
  • Manage, supervise and support staff, including recruitment, training, performance management and rota planning.
  • Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections, ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Work in partnership with local authorities, external agencies, families and professionals to promote positive outcomes for each child.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years' experience managing in a children's residential home.
  • Experience working with children and young people with EBD and LD.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards this qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted inspections and regulatory compliance within children's residential services.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Full clean UK driving licence (desirable).
  • Existing Ofsted URN registration as a Registered Manager.
  • Additional qualifications in social care, health, or related fields.
