Registered Children's Home Manager - Brand-New Learning Disability Service

Registered Children's Home Manager Location: Derbyshire Salary: From £50,000 per annum (depending on experience) Full-Time Permanent Full UK Driving Licence Required Unfortunately, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this position.


Are you an experienced Registered Manager looking for the opportunity to launch and lead a brand-new children's home? We're recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Registered Children's Home Manager to oversee the opening and ongoing development of a new Learning Disability Children's Home in Bretby. This is a fantastic opportunity to build a service from the ground up, recruit and develop your own team, and create a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where children and young people can achieve outstanding outcomes. You'll be joining an established and respected provider with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, child-centred care and investing in the development of its people.


Key Responsibilities

  • Register with Ofsted as the Home Manager and lead the successful opening of the home.

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the service, ensuring compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.

  • Recruit, lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing staff team.

  • Promote a therapeutic, person-centred approach to supporting children with learning disabilities.

  • Ensure safeguarding remains at the heart of all practice.

  • Develop and review care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies.

  • Build positive relationships with local authorities, families, education providers, and healthcare professionals.

  • Monitor quality assurance, audits, and service performance, driving continuous improvement.

  • Work towards achieving positive Ofsted inspection outcomes.


About You

We're looking for a compassionate leader who is passionate about improving the lives of children and young people.


Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience working within residential childcare.

  • Eligible to register with Ofsted.

  • Full UK Driving Licence.

  • Minimum of three years' experience working in residential childcare within the last five years.

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, Children's Homes Regulations, and Ofsted requirements.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.


Desirable

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
