Job Description
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Technician to join our workshop team. You will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing refuse collection vehicles (RCVs) and other heavy goods vehicles to ensure they are safe, reliable, and ready for daily operation.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults on refuse trucks and related equipment.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance and inspections in line with legal and company standards.
Perform MOT preparations and safety checks.
Keep accurate service records and complete job cards.
Work effectively as part of a team to minimise vehicle downtime.
What We Are Looking For
Previous experience working on HGVs, waste/refuse vehicles, or plant machinery.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and safely in a fast-paced environment.
A full UK driving licence (HGV licence is desirable but not essential).
