Receptionist/Clerical Officer - Huntingdon

An opportunity has arisen for a receptionist/clerical office in the Audiology team within the ENT & Audiology clinic, Hinchingbrooke Hospital. You will be required to provide receptionist duties for ENT & Audiology, and undertake a variety of clinical tasks, including dealing with telephone enquiries, booking appointments, processing referrals and actioning clinic outcomes.
Main duties of the jobTo provide a comprehensive administrative support to the Audiology Department.
First point of contact for enquiries, ensuring they are dealt with politely, accurately and in a timely fashion.
Monitor voicemail messages and emails and action appropriately.
Receiving and recording referrals made to the Audiology Department.
Booking/cancelling of appointments and clinics on instruction from the Senior Audiology Administrator or Head of Audiology.
Accurate recording of clinic outcomes. Accurate recording of patient pathways, including clock starts/stops and linking pathways.
Ensure date entered onto Trust systems is complete and accurate.
Provide hearing aid batteries to patients in line with department procedure. Assist in managing ear moulds for patients, including dispatch and receipt to and from manufacturer.
Communicate aspects of the service to patients, explaining procedures.
Plan and organise workload ensuring deadlines are adhered to and duties satisfactorily performed.

Person Specification- Educated to GCSE level standard English Language at Grade A - C (or equivalent)
- Recent experience in an administrative role
- Recent experience of working with the general public
- Demonstrate an understanding of customer care/ability to work with sensitive and confidential information
- Experience of using Outlook
- Experience of working within the NHS
- Experience of using Hospital systems
- Good standard of written and verbal communication at all levels
- Organisational skills and a flexible approach to work
- Commitment to self-development
- Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure to ensure deadlines are achieved
- Knowledge and understanding of Confidentiality and the Data Protection ACT
