Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our reception team to provide high quality patient-focused Care Navigation, administrative and reception support. The ideal candidate will manage patient contact and assist with clinical and admin workflows, working alongside a well-established team to provide excellent customer service. The hours are 23 hrs per week over 4 days. Availability to do 8am start, 6.30 pm finish and provide flexible cover if needed for staff absence, is essential. We may close this advert early if we receive suitable candidates.

Main duties of the job
  • Patient Contact and Communication
    • Answer and triage phone calls, emails, and online requests.
    • Care navigate and direct patients to the most appropriate service or clinician.
    • Provide clear, professional information to patients on services and appointments.
  • Administration
    • Process registrations, leavers, and patient data changes.
    • Handle document workflow, coding, and summarising of patient records.
    • Support chronic disease call/recall programmes.
    • Assist with repeat prescribing processes, following protocol.
  • Reception Duties
    • Greet and check in patients, manage appointment bookings.
    • Support the smooth running of daily clinics.
    • Maintain confidentiality and GDPR compliance.
    • Work flexibly to support other areas of the practice.
    • Provide cover for colleagues' annual leave / sickness.

Our surgery provides high quality healthcare to 5700patients from a modern purpose-built HealthCentre. We have 3 GP Partners, Practice Manager, Nursing Team, Assistant Practice Manager, Secretary, along with a Reception Team. We have a long-term stable workforce and are proud that several staff members have been with us for decades. We are a training practice hosting GP registrars, undergraduate medical students, and student nurses.

Qualifications
  • Previous admin experience.
  • A good standard of education.
  • A high standard of computer literacy.
  • Ability to use own judgement and resourcefulness.
  • Ability to work as part of an integrated, multi-skilled team.
  • Pleasant and articulate, with the ability to work under pressure in a rapidly-changing environment.
  • Understanding acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality.
  • Flexibility in working hours.
  • Able to adapt to change.
  • Experience dealing with the public.
