The post holder will provide reception duties to the North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre. The role requires good communication and interpersonal skills. The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the reception, maintaining patient records, and ensuring a high standard of customer service and communication with patients and a multi-disciplinary team.
The JD & PS are currently under AfC review and are subject to change.
Main duties of the job- To act as Receptionist to the NWRSIC.
- Assist in organising out-patient clinics and completing appointment outcomes on internal systems.
- To be responsible for maintaining and gathering patient records.
- The validation of patient demographics by gathering the correct information from the National Summary Care Record and ensuring all information is correct on internal systems.
- Attend to daily mail delivery.
- To assist patients using ambulance transport using the NWAS system.
- Deal with all enquires in a professional manner.
- Provide a courteous and efficient telephone service to patients.
- Communicate with patients / carers regarding personal and sensitive information.
- Training of staff within the boundaries of own skills and knowledge.
- Take personal responsibility for the quality of work undertaken and to contribute towards service improvements.
- Make economical use of reception supplies.
- Co-operate in the introduction of new technology.
- To be aware of confidentiality, GDPR, and data protection.

We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.

- Previous use of Patient Administration systems
