Receptionist / Care Navigator

Siam Surgery, in Sudbury, is looking to welcome a friendly receptionist/care navigator to their busy team. This position is offered on a part time basis, for 22 hours, worked over 4 days per week. Some degree of flexibility is required as, occasionally, you will be required to work additional or alternative hours to cover colleagues.

Main duties

• Offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or over the telephone and email
• Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way
• Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice, including the provision of clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team
• Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies

Person Specification

General practice is a challenging environment that requires a calm and caring approach with the ability to work under pressure. The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent computer skills in Word, Excel and Outlook
• Good standard of numeracy and literacy
• Confident working as part of a team and independently
• An understanding of GDPR and confidentiality
• Presentable and approachable to both staff and patients
• Self motivated
• Flexible and able to adapt
• Experience working with the clinical system "SystmOne" would be advantageous
