Reception Teacher - Full-Time - Gateshead Primary School (EYFS)

Protocol Education is working with a welcoming and well-supported primary school in Gateshead to recruit a full-time Reception Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity within Teaching jobs in Gateshead for someone who thrives in EYFS and wants to make a lasting impact from day one.

About the role

You'll take full responsibility for a Reception class, supported by an experienced Teaching Assistant and a collaborative Early Years team. This is a hands on, rewarding role where no two days are the same - from phonics and storytelling to outdoor learning and play based exploration.

What your day to day will look like

• Delivering engaging, play based lessons aligned with the EYFS framework
• Supporting early phonics, language development, and communication skills
• Creating a safe, stimulating, and structured learning environment
• Encouraging social development, independence, and curiosity
• Observing, assessing, and tracking individual progress
• Building strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues

You'll play a key role in helping children settle into school, develop confidence, and begin their love of learning.

What we're looking for

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience or strong interest in Early Years education
• A nurturing, patient, and creative approach
• Strong understanding of child development
• Excellent communication and organisational skills

Working hours

• Monday to Friday
• 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
• Full time, term time only
