Job Description
Raw Materials Technologist (Food Compliance) 
The main purpose of this role is to support the technical approval, monitoring, and ongoing compliance of raw materials, primarily ingredients and packaging, with occasional involvement in fresh produce. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop technical competence, supplier facing experience, and commercial understanding, with clear career progression.
Key Responsibilities- Support the supplier approval and onboarding process for new raw materials and suppliers.
- Maintain and review due diligence documentation to ensure compliance with customer and industry requirements.
- Assist with the creation, updating, and maintenance of raw material specifications.
- Help maintain the approved supplier list and monitor supplier performance through basic data analysis.
- Support raw material surveillance activities, including testing schedules and traceability exercises.
- Assist in maintaining raw material risk assessments and vulnerability assessments.
- Record supplier non conformances and support investigations to ensure compliance.
- Track corrective actions and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely resolution.
- Update and maintain customer and supplier monitoring platforms.
- Support internal audits and preparation for external audits and customer visits.
- Assist in supplier visits and audits alongside senior team members.
- Help generate reports and KPIs to support technical decision making.
- Experience in a food manufacturing or supply chain environment (placement or graduate experience acceptable).
- Strong attention to detail and an organised approach to work.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the confidence to engage suppliers and internal teams.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Willingness to learn, develop, and take on increasing responsibility.
- A degree in Food Science (or equivalent industry experience).
- HACCP Level 3 certification.
- Food Safety Level 3 certification.
