Site: University College Hospital, London. Salary £31,554 - £33,270 per annum (inclusive of HCAS). Salary period: yearly. Closing: 10/06/:59.
This is a wonderful opportunity for a healthcare support worker with varied experience to work in a cutting edge clinical environment. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic and skilled radiology department assistant to join our multidisciplinary team in the MRI department.
The clinical range of patient presentations is wide and we would expect the successful applicant to communicate effectively, demonstrate a patient centred approach and contribute to the efficient running of the MRI department, with the provision of a consistently high standard of patient care. Previous experience of working in a healthcare environment is essential. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a patient focused, technically advanced field and is an excellent opportunity to develop new skills and knowledge. The department is keen to facilitate continual professional development and all staff are actively supported in this area. Cannulation training will be provided for the role. Participation in the MRI extended opening hours is essential.
Main duties of the job- Assist with the running of the Breast Imaging Service
- Assist Radiologists and Radiographers during interventional procedures
- Prepare patients for their examinations
- Support Radiographers in managing clinical workflow through the MRI service
- Undertake general administrative duties as required
- Check and maintain stock levels of consumables and linen/patient gowns
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience in carrying out assigned duties/assisting qualified staff after training
- Working in a team
- Good standard of written and spoken English
- Working in a Health Care or related setting
- Able to carry out administrative and clerical duties appropriate to the work area
- Able to maintain resources efficiently and effectively
- Able to report problems as they arise and solve them where possible
- Able to provide essential care for patients as directed
- Able to carry out clinical procedures as required
- Understands importance of Infection
- Understands importance of Health Promotion
- Demonstrate ability to meet Trust Values of safety, kindness, teamwork and improving
- Able to communicate accurately and effectively with patients and colleagues, verbally and in writing
- Able to deal with the public in person and on the phone
- Able to support and reassure patients/carers in distress
- Understands importance of maintaining confidentiality
- Demonstrates understanding of own role within the team
- Willing to produce a personal development plan with manager
- Willing to develop self & undertaking in house study
- Experience of giving care in a multi cultural environment
- Able to use a computer / learn how to use a computer to record information
