BC Cancer - Surrey is a full-service academic cancer center located in the western Fraser Valley. We are seeking permanent radiation oncologists to join our staff of 17 Radiation Oncologists, 3 part-time General Practitioners in Oncology, and one full-time nurse practitioner, working within the provincial Radiation Therapy program at BC Cancer.
Surrey is located approximately 30 kilometres southeast of Vancouver in a rapidly growing, diverse community that is home to families, universities, and a multicultural urban centre.
BC Cancer - Surrey has 5 linear accelerators and an orthovoltage unit. We treat all tumor sites and offer comprehensive Stereotactic services including SRS, thoracic, liver/abdomen, spine, and GU stereotactic teams. SABR treatment of primary cancers (e.g., lung, liver, prostate) and oligometastatic/oligoprogressive disease is provided. Prostate and Gynaecologic brachytherapy are planned on-site and delivered at the Abbotsford centre about 35 km away.
Our department has an active academic program. The successful applicant will be expected to deliver excellent patient care, be involved in teaching medical students and residents, and carry out clinical research. We offer a strong multidisciplinary clinical trials group and have research opportunities through collaborations with Surrey Memorial Hospital, UBC, and SFU, as well as provincial projects.
We have more than 2 positions available, and disease site coverage is negotiable for suitable candidates. We seek individuals who are collegial and work well with our team. The successful applicant will be recommended for a clinical appointment in the Division of Radiation Oncology, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine at UBC, with privileges through both the Provincial Health Services Authority and Surrey Memorial Hospital.
The successful applicant must be eligible for licensure in BC, hold a Fellowship in Radiation Oncology from the RCPSC or an equivalent qualification, and meet medical staff appointment requirements at BC Cancer and Surrey Memorial Hospital.
