R&D Machinist

Role Overview

This is a fantastic chance for candidates with a CNC machining background to join a global powerhouse at the forefront of their industry, who are producing products that will define and shape innovation across manufacturing, scientific and industrial sectors.

You'll be hands-on in the machine shop, manufacturing prototype and low-volume production parts, using a range of materials and machines. This is a varied role where you'll program, set and run CNC mills and lathes, contribute to problem-solving and prototyping, and uphold the highest quality standards.

Your work in the machine shop will be critical to the success of the wider production team and you'll be joining a company with one of the most recognisable brands in the world of technology.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and machine precision parts
• Program, set, and operate CNC mills (3 & 4 axis) and lathes.
• Work with Mazak, Mazatrol, Hurco machinery and Winmax programming.
• Inspect work using precision measuring equipment and maintain ISO 9001 standards.
• Collaborate on design improvements and continuous process enhancements.

What We're Looking For

• Apprentice-trained machinist or minimum 5 years' experience in a precision workshop environment.
• Skilled in manual machining (mills and lathes) and CNC programming.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and geometric tolerances.
• A proactive, detail-oriented individual, eager to learn and grow within the business.

Location

Location: Tring, Buckinghamshire

Salary: £35k-£45k

Working Hours: Mon-Fri(8-5) - half day Friday and 9/10 policy
