Location: Co. Mayo (commutable from Castlebar, Ballina, Westport, Claremorris, and surrounding areas) Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Overview

A leading manufacturing company based in Co. Mayo is seeking an experienced R&D Engineer to join its growing innovation team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting edge product development projects within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

This role is ideally suited to candidates living in or commuting from Castlebar, Ballina, Westport, Claremorris, and other major towns across Mayo.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support research and development projects from concept through to commercialisation
  • Design, test, and validate new products and processes
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams including production, quality, and engineering
  • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and technical evaluations
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, reports, and specifications
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices
Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Biomedical, or related discipline)
  • 2+ years' experience in an R&D or product development role within manufacturing
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience with product design, testing, and validation
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Desirable
  • Experience in regulated environments (e.g. medical devices, pharma, or similar)
  • Familiarity with CAD software and data analysis tools
  • Project management experience
