Job Description

We are currently seeking a R&D Engineer to join our dynamic Research & Development team. This role involves the development of high-precision, regulated products, with strong focus on usability, safety, and compliance with applicable standards and procedures The ideal candidate will possess a strong engineering background, hands-on experience in product development, and deep knowledge of applicable regulations and validation techniques.


Please note: Although the primary location for this role is Barcelona, for approximately the first 6 months (which may extend beyond this period) the selected candidate will be required to work 100% on-site in Sant Quirze del Vallès (Barcelona province) .


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for designing and developing new technology-based products and processes.
  • Analyze and understand the positioning of the product or process.
  • Translate functional needs into technical specifications.
  • Set up the verification and validation phases.
  • Correct and improve the product, service, or process.
  • Support production start-up and product launch.
  • Participate in benchmarking and testing of competitive products to gain relevant information applicable to product specifications.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required; a postgraduate or master's degree in a relevant field of research is preferred.
  • Alternatively, a minimum of 2 years of equivalent professional experience in a related industry.
  • Proficient in computer-aided engineering tools (CAx).
  • Proficiency in Spanish is highly valued due to the international nature of the role.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Familiarity with the patent systems (EPA and USPTO).
  • Experience with statistical analysis and computer-assisted experimental design (e.g., Minitab, Statgraphics).
  • Hands-on experience with catheter-based medical devices, vascular implants, or stentretrievers.
