R&D Assistant Tax Manager - Big 4

We are seeking a AM level (possible a Tax Senior with some R&D exp) to join a leading national Tax R&D team in London within a Big 4 firm. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a diverse client portfolio, from innovative SMEs to large corporates covering a wide spectrum of clients, delivering high-quality R&D tax advice and claims support while collaborating with colleagues across a global network.

In this role, you will take ownership of key aspects of client relationships, managing deadlines, meetings, and day-to-day queries, while preparing HMRC-compliant R&D reports and technical documentation. You will review claim calculations, ensure accurate application of UK tax legislation, and contribute to business development and cross-network opportunities. This role offers real exposure to complex R&D claims and the chance to strengthen both technical expertise and client-facing skills.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience preparing and reviewing UK R&D tax claims, including SME and RDEC, and be confident managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills are essential, alongside excellent communication, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients alike. Analytical skills and proficiency with Excel are highly desirable.
