Quarry Operative

Overview

Heidelberg Materials UK (formerly Hanson UK) is one of the UK's largest suppliers of construction materials. We are looking for a Quarry Operative to support safe, efficient and reliable operations on site.

Responsibilities

• Operate mobile and static plant safely and professionally in line with site management instructions and certifications.
• Carry out daily maintenance tasks including refuelling, greasing and cleaning plant equipment.
• Ensure all machinery is operated as efficiently and economically as possible.
• Complete daily inspection sheets for all mobile plant.
• Report any plant defects, safety concerns or operational issues promptly to the General Foreman.
• Complete near-miss reports and contribute to a strong safety culture.
• Undertake general maintenance and additional duties on the main processing plant as required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Mobile Plant Operations (MPQRC) or equivalent.
• Tickets for excavator, loading shovel or dumper.
• Good general level of education to understand and apply health & safety and quarry regulations.
• Responsible approach to safety and compliance.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Team player with a positive attitude, reliability and initiative.
