Job Description

Heidelberg Materials UK (formerly Hanson UK) is a leading supplier of construction materials. We are hiring a Quarry Operative to support safe, efficient and reliable operations on site.

About the Role

As a Quarry Operative you will operate a range of mobile and static plant equipment safely and professionally. You will maintain site standards, support production and ensure equipment runs efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate mobile and static plant safely and professionally in line with site management instructions and certifications.
  • Carry out daily maintenance tasks, including refuelling, greasing and cleaning plant equipment.
  • Ensure all machinery is operated as efficiently and economically as possible.
  • Complete daily inspection sheets for all mobile plant.
  • Report plant defects, safety concerns or operational issues promptly to the General Foreman.
  • Complete near miss reports and contribute to a strong safety culture.
  • Undertake general maintenance and additional duties on the main processing plant as required.
Education & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • GCSE Grade 4/C or above in Maths and English.
  • A good general level of education to understand and apply Health & Safety and Quarry Regulations.
  • EPIC certification for mobile plant operation.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Mobile Plant Operations (or willingness to complete this following EPIC certification).
