Location: Royston, Hertfordshire

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor? Join our growing team in Royston, Hertfordshire, and play a key role in delivering high-impact projects across Northern Home Counties.

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to oversee the financial and contractual management of a variety of planned, reactive, decarbonisation and painting contracts. You will ensure cost-effective delivery while maintaining full compliance with any funding and client requirements such as PAS 2035 .

Key Responsibilities

Manage all commercial aspects of projects across our works spectrum
Provide accurate cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting
Lead on procurement, tendering, valuations, variations, and final accounts
Ensure alignment with funding standards such as PAS 2035, ECO4, SHDF
Maintain strong cost control, reporting, and risk management throughout project lifecycles
Work collaboratively with clients, contractors, and internal teams

Essential Criteria

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on general build, retrofit, maintenance or painting projects
Demonstrated commercial awareness and ability to control and report on costs effectively
Familiarity with JCT and/or NEC contracts
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
Proficient in MS Excel and measurement software

Desirable Criteria

Experience working with local authorities , housing associations , or public sector clients
Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
RICS or CIOB accredited (or working towards)
Retrofit-specific training (e.g., Retrofit QS, PAS 2035 knowledge)
