Quantity Surveyor - Permanent
Location: Watford
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 + benefits
Sector: Rail & Civils (major project delivery)

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a £100m+ rail and civils scheme with significant construction elements. This is a permanent role offering excellent career progression within a leading infrastructure environment.

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of a major infrastructure programme, supporting commercial and contractual management across the project lifecycle. You will be responsible for cost control, contract administration, procurement, valuations, and supporting the commercial strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and administer contracts (primarily NEC, but JCT or other forms may also be considered).
  • Prepare and manage cost reports, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Support procurement processes and subcontractor management.
  • Assist in preparing valuations, variations, and claims.
  • Work closely with project managers and engineers to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor in rail, civils, or major infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts (experience with JCT or other forms also considered).
  • Proven ability to manage costs on large-scale (£100m+) projects.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
