- Modelling trading of European power and gas along the entire forward curve
- Quantitatively developing trading strategies and algorithmic strategies to generate additional value
- Understanding trading markets and price drivers to capture market value
- Understand global market fundamentals and other price drivers to develop trading strategies for the traders
- Support the traders in analysing and idea generation, with the ability to bear P&L-responsibility and continuously track the risks of positions
- Openly communicate and review positions, trading strategies and market opportunities to maximise E.ON Group value
- Contribute to development of Forward and Flow Trading Desk in E.ON
- University degree or equivalent in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Engineering, Economics, Mathematics), with strong mathematical content.
- 1-2 years of practical experience in a trading environment, preferably on a trading floor, with a focus on European Power, Gas, and Emissions markets.
- 2+ years of experience in quantitative research or trading; solid understanding of energy economics, strike price modelling, and scenario-based price impact analysis.
- Proven ability to build and implement short- and long-term models for analyzing market fundamentals, pre-trade analysis, and backtesting strategies along the forward curve.
- Experience developing professional dashboards (e.g., PowerBI, Streamlit) to support trading decisions through visualization of fundamentals and historical pricing.
- Strong skills in Python, SQL, and Excel, with the ability to build trade support tools and implement quantitative methods for trade sizing, risk management, and strategy execution.
- Demonstrated success in supporting traders with actionable trade ideas based on price and fundamental analysis, contributing to executed trades.
- Deep understanding of European energy market dynamics and commodity interactions; experience with utility portfolio risks; resilient, self-driven, and capable of working internationally and under pressure.
