Job Description
Job Title and Location

Quantitative Finance Analyst (up to Assistant Vice President) - Bromley, London.

Team & Context

Global Risk Analytics (GRA) - Default Risk Modelling team within Global Markets Risk Analytics (GMRA).

Responsibilities
  • Develop, test, document and maintain Default Risk models including risk factor simulation, pricing, aggregation, and back testing.
  • Support the Default Risk platform, investigating system issues and providing quantitative support to model users.
  • Improve model development infrastructure (test harnesses, utilities, visualization tools).
  • Partner with Capital, Risk, Technology, Model Risk Management and Market Risk Management on model enhancement, performance testing and documentation to satisfy internal and external requirements.
  • Prepare evidence and documentation for internal and external exams.
  • Identify common themes across global markets and lead improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate results to all model stakeholders, senior management and regulators.
  • Confirm remediation of model issues before deployment and drive incremental improvement to model performance assessment tools.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree or PhD (preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or related field).
  • Experience in quantitative modelling for a global financial institution.
  • Strong programming skills in C++ and Python; solid understanding of software development best practices.
  • Up to date knowledge of industry trends, commercial instinct and robust risk management understanding.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, organisational skills and ability to build relationships across regions.
  • Strong time management, multitasking ability, focus and rigor in deliverables.
  • Proactive, initiative driven, with capacity to anticipate and seize opportunities.
  • Deep analysis and development of the bank's IRC, CRM and IDR models; identification and execution of improvements.
  • Close engagement with model stakeholders and regulators to meet expectations.
  • Support bank wide initiatives such as FRTB and CCAR assessments.
