Quant Systems Developer - London

A leading technology development firm based in London is seeking a technology enthusiast to join its Quant team. This role involves hands-on technical work within an engineering team responsible for developing and maintaining a high-performance trading and research infrastructure.

Responsibilities include contributing to the design and maintenance of the firm's extensive compute infrastructure, including operating system platforms, software development tooling, high-performance computing, networking, and storage for research and trading. The role also involves engaging in various technology initiatives such as workload scheduling, fleet management, clustered file system design and operation, SDLC, kernel and network performance tuning for low-latency and high-throughput applications, and metrics collection and data mining analysis.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate an interest in understanding how technology operates. A degree in computer science or a related technical qualification is required. Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. Proficiency in languages such as Python, Golang, Rust, or similar is essential. Knowledge of Linux-based systems and networking is advantageous. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with good organizational and time management abilities, are also required.
