Job Description
Quality Inspector

We are working with one of the largest international independent manufacturers of metallic aerospace detailed parts. Capabilities include Machining, Assembly, Inspection & Control, Integrated Logistics, Processing & Finishing, Sheet Metal & Fabrication, Speed Shop, Engineering. We are looking for a Quality Inspector to add to the team.

Compensation and Schedule

Permanent (3 Shifts Available)

  • Monday-Thursday / 6am-6pm: £18.01 + shift allowance = £19.63 per hour / £48,998.73 per annum
  • Monday-Thursday / 6pm-6am: £18.01 + shift allowance = £23.95 per hour / £59,787.44 per annum
  • Friday - Sunday / 6am - 6pm: £18.01 + shift allowance = £25.21 per hour / £47,200.60 per annum

Location: Derby

Responsibilities
  • Provide Quality and Inspection support for both existing and new business opportunities and to develop the Right First-Time philosophy required to become a leading supplier of quality components to the aerospace industry
  • Maintain quality control within the manufacturing process, in line with business standards and customer requirements
  • Check and verify the compliance of components produced at all stages within the business
  • Conduct First Article Inspection procedures & Non-conformance procedures
  • Identify recurring quality issues and communicate them to the chief inspector
  • Assist in the 5Y quality procedure and produce root cause analysis of product failures
  • Incorporate standardisation of jigs, fixtures and tooling wherever possible
  • Support, develop, maintain and improve the company's quality management system and conduct internal audits against the system
  • Conduct root cause analyses, SPC and other appropriate quality tools and techniques to ensure that the manufacturing processes meet customer requirements
Essential Experience and Skills
  • Well-versed inspecting a range of components/parts using dimensional measurement tools (verniers, micrometres, bore micrometers, height gauges, DTI (Digital Test Indicators) etc.)
  • Experienced inspecting parts within a highly regulated industry
