Job Description
Quality Engineer

Are you looking for the next step in your career? Could you be the right person to fill this position?

We are recruiting for a Quality Engineer to join us on a permanent basis.

The main purpose of this role will be:

  • Assist in continuous improvement activities, including addressing non-conformances and customer complaints/returns.
  • Ensure a consistent and detailed approach using root cause analysis and problem-solving tools such as 8D or 5 Whys.
  • Improve quality in line with customer expectations and industry standards.
  • Carry out inspection duties as necessary.

The main requirements and employee responsibilities are:

  • Understand customer requirements and industry best practices to develop strategies for improving product quality.
  • Lead and coordinate root cause analysis of quality issues related to manufactured products, purchased parts, and customer complaints.
  • Manage the RMA process, ensuring customer feedback and fulfillment meet high standards of service.
  • Administer internal quality processes (NCR, ECN, CAR) to ensure quick containment, corrective actions, root cause identification, and resolution.
  • Assist with supplier qualification processes, including assessing process capabilities and ensuring robust quality assurance practices.

The essential skills and experience required include:

  • Experience with continuous improvement tools and techniques.
  • A structured, organized approach to work with detailed problem-solving skills.
  • At least five years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a good understanding of quality and process management tools such as 5S/6S, flowcharts, VSM, Kaizen, Pareto, QCPC, 8D, Cause & Effect, Ishikawa, 5 Whys.

Additional skills include:

  • Experience with CMM or Faro Arm devices and other metrology equipment used in machine shop environments.
  • Experience in vacuum science is advantageous.

Required qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Qualified to ONC/HNC level in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or relevant quality professional qualification.
