Job Description

Quality Engineer (Evergreen)

This role will support manufacturing operations by identifying process quality risks and improvement opportunities through structured data analysis and quality engineering methods.

The Quality Engineer works cross functionally with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other support functions to drive continuous improvement of manufacturing processes based on factual data such as Pareto analysis, yield trends, and process capability.

This role is focused on enabling informed decision making, facilitating root cause analysis, and ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions are defined, implemented, and sustained by the appropriate process owners. The Quality Engineer promotes a data driven quality culture while ensuring manufacturing processes remain stable, capable, and compliant.

This REQ is a Evergreen REQ where we will review application when we have an active requirement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive cross functional alignment on improvement priorities by presenting data based insights and facilitating fact based decision making.
  • Monitor process performance and capability, highlighting adverse trends, systemic risks, and opportunities for improvement to relevant process owners.
  • Facilitate structured problem solving activities using recognised methodologies such as A3, DMAIC, 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone, ensuring root causes are identified and addressed.
  • Support cross functional teams in defining effective corrective and preventive actions, tracking progress, and verifying effectiveness through data.
  • Ensure lessons learned are captured and reflected in process documentation and risk assessments.
  • Drive and facilitate PFMEA development, review, and updates to reflect current manufacturing performance, issues, and changes, ensuring risks are visible and appropriately mitigated by process owners.

  • Provide day to day quality engineering support to manufacturing teams by advising on process risk, defect investigation, and data interpretation.
  • Participate in change management activities (process, equipment, material, or supplier changes) by assessing quality risk and supporting validation and control requirements.
  • Contribute data driven input to MRB activities to support informed disposition decisions and longer term systemic improvements.
  • Participate in and support internal and external audits, focusing on process effectiveness, risk management, and use of data rather than compliance alone.
  • Support closure of audit findings by facilitating root cause analysis and ensuring sustainable corrective actions are implemented by responsible functions.
  • Promote effective application of quality system requirements within manufacturing processes.
  • Act as a quality interface for process related topics during customer interactions, reviews, and audits, presenting data, trends, and improvement actions as required.
  • Support investigation and resolution of customer quality issues by coordinating cross functional analysis and ensuring timely, data based responses.
  • Promote quality awareness and continuous improvement mindset across the production floor and support functions.
  • Coach and influence teams in the effective use of data, quality tools, and structured problem solving techniques.
  • Support team capability development while reinforcing clear ownership of process execution within Operations and Engineering.
