Kepak Meat Division UK operates across 3 manufacturing sites with 2,000 employees, producing a range of quality meat and protein based food products for retail and foodservice customers. The division focuses on providing exceptional service and value to our stakeholders.
Role OverviewWe are currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance Manager to work in our busy Bodmin Site.
This is a full time, permanent position working Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 5 pm.
Responsibilities- To lead the Quality Assurance function within the primary processing unit, ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality, animal welfare, and ethical compliance.
- This role is pivotal in maintaining regulatory and customer standards, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of accountability, food safety and quality excellence.
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety policies and procedures.
- Monitor and report on H&S metrics.
- Lead the QA team in implementing and maintaining robust food safety and quality systems.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, TACCP, VACCP & BRCGS standards.
- Liaise with the site food safety manager to support and continuously improve the site's quality management system.
- Support internal animal welfare audits.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and root cause analysis.
- Monitor claims & complaints.
- Contribute to site CI initiative development and delivery.
- Set up and monitor QA performance.
- Ensure the site is always audit ready.
- Lead the QA preparation and response for customer, third party and regulatory audits.
Monitor and investigate non conformance and ensure satisfactory resolutions.
Qualifications- Qualification in Food Science, Food Technology or related discipline.
- Level 4 HACCP Certification.
- Auditing experience required.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS, GMP, TACCP, VACCP and UK/EU food safety.
- Experience in managing audits and liaising with stakeholders.
- Proven track record in food safety compliance.
