Job Description

Our client, a leading food manufacturing business, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Associate to join their growing Quality team. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional who is passionate about food safety, compliance, and continuous improvement within a fast paced production environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and enhancing the site's Food Safety and Quality Management Systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements while working closely with cross functional teams across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Food Safety Management Systems through GMP audits, CCP verifications, and Food Safety walks.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company procedures, food safety requirements, and FSSC 22000 standards.
  • Support the expansion, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of Quality Management Systems across operational areas.
  • Work closely with production and other departments to ensure quality and food safety standards are consistently achieved.
  • Provide guidance and support to operational teams regarding quality processes and compliance requirements.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of food safety training programmes for new and existing employees.
  • Support internal audits and third party certification audits.
  • Manage and maintain the Document Management System, ensuring all controlled documentation remains accurate and up to date.
  • Train employees on documentation requirements and quality procedures.
  • Monitor changes in regulatory and quality requirements and support the implementation of necessary updates.
  • Drive, monitor, and review corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
  • Participate in cross functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Carry out additional duties as required.
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Quality Assurance, Food Science, or a related scientific discipline.
  • At least 2 years' experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GMPs, Food Safety Management Systems, and quality assurance practices.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and managing controlled documentation and procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a highly organised approach to work.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong planning and prioritisation skills, with the ability to meet deadlines in a busy environment.
  • Experience delivering training or supporting employee development initiatives would be advantageous.
