Job Description

Join our dedicated Child Protection Team in Wigston & Hinckley, Leicestershire, as a Qualified Social Worker (QSW) and play a vital role in safeguarding and improving the lives of children and families in our community. In this challenging yet rewarding position, you will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to assess and manage risk, ensuring that children are protected and supported in a nurturing environment.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to inform intervention strategies.
  • Developing and implementing child protection plans in partnership with families and other professionals.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with legal and organizational standards.
  • Providing support and guidance to families, promoting positive parenting and family dynamics.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings to ensure a coordinated approach to safeguarding.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work).
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Demonstrated experience in child protection and safeguarding.
  • Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with families and professionals.
