Qualified Dispensing Optician

Are you a commercially confident Qualified Dispensing Optician looking for a friendly, supportive practice with fixed working days and no late nights?

We are recruiting for a large, established optical practice in North Manchester. You will join a welcoming and supportive team where colleagues work together to provide an excellent patient experience.

The practice is looking for a QDO who can combine strong technical and product knowledge with a warm, needs-led approach. You will take the time to understand each patient's lifestyle and visual requirements before recommending the most appropriate frame, lens and coating options.

The Role

• Delivering accurate, patient-focused dispensing
• Understanding patients' lifestyles, prescriptions and visual requirements
• Recommending suitable frames, lenses, coatings and additional options
• Explaining product features and benefits clearly
• Supporting complex and higher-value prescriptions
• Taking accurate measurements and helping to reduce avoidable remakes
• Providing technical guidance to patients and colleagues
• Contributing towards individual and practice performance targets
• Supporting the wider patient journey and shop-floor team
• Maintaining high professional and clinical standards
• Building trusted, long-term relationships with patients

About You

To be considered, you must be a fully qualified Dispensing Optician, currently registered with the GOC, with at least 12 months' recent experience working in a UK optical practice.

Applications without the required UK optical experience will not be progressed.

You will also need:

• Commercial awareness and experience working towards targets
• The ability to make suitable recommendations without over-selling
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A positive, flexible and team-focused attitude
• Availability to work Saturdays
