Qualified Dental Nurse

Qualified Dental Nurse required for a well established orthodontic practice in Sligo.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during routine and specialist dental procedures
• Prepare and sterilise instruments and equipment
• Maintain cross-infection control and decontamination procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms before and after patients
• Record and update patient notes and medical histories
• Take dental radiographs where qualified and authorised
• Support patients before, during, and after treatment
• Manage stock levels and order dental supplies
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Use dental software systems for records and appointments
• Assist with reception duties when required, including appointment scheduling and patient queries.

Requirements

• Recognised Dental Nursing qualification
• Eligible to work in Ireland
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control standards
• Fluent English communication skills
• Computer literacy and familiarity with dental practice software
• Dental Radiography qualification
• Experience with software such as Dentally, SOE, Aerona, or Exact
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organisation and time management
• Ability to work calmly in a fast-paced environment
• Professional and caring manner with patients
• Attention to detail and clinical hygiene standards
