About The Role:
The RoleWe're seeking a proactive and knowledgeable QHSE Advisor to join our South Region team. This role plays a critical part in upskilling our operational leaders, supporting compliance, and fostering a culture of safety and continual improvement. You'll act as a trusted advisor and subject-matter expert on all QHSE matters, offering guidance, conducting audits, and driving strategic initiatives. You will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders, with regular travel to sites including London, supporting our diverse service lines and contributing to a strong, consistent health and safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Build capability and confidence in operational teams by delivering expert QHSE support and training.
- Contribute to policy and process development to ensure clarity, accessibility, and effective implementation.
- Communicate clearly and proactively on QHSE topics; develop reports, bulletins, and briefings to promote learning.
- Support the business in responding to emerging risks and adapting swiftly to challenges.
- Deliver on QHSE strategic goals and drive initiatives for continuous improvement.
- Conduct QHSE audits according to plan, identify non-conformities, and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead or support investigations into incidents and accidents, delivering thorough reports and follow-up recommendations.
- Provide credible advice on event investigations and help drive lessons learned into practical changes.
- Liaise with enforcement authorities (e.g. HSE, EHO) when required and coordinate responses to their requests.
- Represent the QHSE function in internal and external meetings, offering compliance insight and risk-based guidance.
- Maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, clients, and regulatory bodies.
- Stay current with industry best practices and legislative updates to ensure personal and organisational compliance.
- Collaborate closely with other QHSE colleagues to ensure seamless and consistent service delivery.
- NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent).
- Extensive understanding of health and safety compliance, legal frameworks, and industry regulations.
- Proven experience in safety management, preferably in services, manufacturing, engineering, or industrial sectors.
- Experience dealing with incidents, investigations, and engagement with enforcement agencies.
- Knowledge across multiple service environments (e.g., hard FM, cleaning, working at height, security, catering, aviation, logistics).
- Confident communicator with ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Analytical and solution-focused, able to manage both hands-on support and strategic project work.
- Holds a full UK driving licence.
