Job Description

Talentmark are recruiting for a Training Officer to join a growing pharmaceutical manufacturer based in Birmingham, on a permanent basis.

The Company:

Our client is a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical manufacturer committed to producing high-quality medicines while maintaining the highest standards of quality, compliance and continuous improvement. They are looking for an experienced Training Officer to develop and manage their site-wide training programme, ensuring all employees remain competent and inspection-ready.

Your main duties will be:
  • Design, implement and maintain the site training matrix, ensuring role-specific training remains current.
  • Deliver GMP induction training to new starters, contractors and visitors, alongside ongoing refresher training.
  • Coordinate and deliver technical, procedural and behavioural training in collaboration with department managers and subject matter experts.
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready training records and competency assessments.
  • Monitor training compliance, identifying and escalating overdue or incomplete training.
  • Support the introduction of new and revised SOPs by coordinating associated training requirements.
  • Prepare and present training metrics, KPIs and compliance reports for Quality Management Review meetings.
  • Support investigations, CAPAs and deviations where training has been identified as a contributing factor.
  • Assist with internal audits and regulatory inspections, providing training documentation and demonstrating compliance.
  • Promote a positive quality and training culture across the site.
Your Background:
  • Previous experience in a Training, Quality Assurance or Quality Systems role within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical, biotechnology or manufacturing environment.
  • Good understanding of GMP, MHRA requirements and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and record accuracy.
  • Confident communication and presentation skills, with the ability to train employees at all levels.
  • Experience maintaining training matrices, competency assessments and controlled training records.
  • Proactive approach with the ability to prioritise a varied workload and work collaboratively across multiple departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • A degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Quality, HR/Learning & Development or a related discipline would be advantageous.
  • Experience supporting regulatory inspections or internal audits would be beneficial.
