Job Description
JJ Rhatigan & Company is one of Ireland's leading Building Contractors, with operations throughout Ireland and the UK. We are currently recruiting for a Purchasing Administrator in Galway.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a prestigious main contractor and work with like minded people on award winning multi million euro projects.
Key duties- Manage key categories of spend within the Purchasing function such as PPE, Concrete Accessories etc.
- Assist in the GRN'ing of dockets to ensure all dockets are as up to date as possible.
- Send out tender enquiries for material by email.
- Analyse quotes and prepare comparisons for approval for material.
- To provide an ethical and consistent approach to the procurement of goods and services.
- Keep abreast of developments in the local, national and international supply markets.
- To maintain working relationships with suppliers.
- To assist with the selection of suppliers to provide goods to JJR sites in different geographical locations.
- Maintain price books on SAP on a regular basis.
- Analyse spend on SAP on agreed products and when necessary send out tender enquiries to obtain competitive pricing.
- To manage and report on project costs versus budgets situations on agreed categories of spend.
- Assist with abstraction of details with bills of quantities under supervision for the purposes of obtaining tender quotes.
- Understand the basic and commercial principles of the function.
- Assist where possible in all aspects of purchasing/procurement.
- Build up a knowledge of materials that are purchased on a regular basis and suppliers that can deliver within our time scales.
- Ability to prioritise procurement problems.
- Ability to work to tight deadline to ensure the timely ordering of goods and services.
- Technical competence to be able to consider and put forward alternative materials/methods of working and assess cost effectiveness.
- Be a good negotiator.
- The ability to analyse in detail quotes received from the supply market, recognise the potential problems and/or gains and react accordingly.
- Ability to communicate within the supply market at all levels.
- Experience in the Construction Industry is an advantage
