Pupil Support Officer - St Crispin's School.
Location & FacilitiesSt Crispin's is a special school for primary and secondary age pupils meeting the needs of learners with complex, long term additional support needs. The school focuses on intellectual disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorders, with a maximum of 6 learners per class. We moved into our new building in Burdiehouse in early 2022 and provide 12 classrooms, Art, Music, Home Economics classrooms, a PE hall, a swimming pool and sensory and soft-play rooms.
Responsibilities- Work as part of a class team together with the class teacher to support each learner to reach their full potential.
- Take increased responsibility within the team by supporting the teacher in leading small group sessions and individualising interventions for pupils.
It is desirable that applicants have experience working with children with learning disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Salary & HoursSalary: £30,188 £34,452 (pro rata for part time/sessional). Hours: 30 per week, 39 weeks sessional.
Eligibility & Pre employment ChecksThis post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate must join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out of the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check is required. Unconditional offer and commencement are subject to satisfactory completion of these checks.
