Public Realm Officer

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Public Realm Officer to lead and shape the delivery of our integrated Public Realm services. This is a high-impact role where you will play a key part in ensuring our streets, open spaces, and public areas are safe, clean, and well-maintained for residents, businesses, and visitors.

As a key member of the Operational Management Team, you will take strategic and operational responsibility for a diverse and essential service area. You will lead frontline teams, manage resources effectively, and drive continuous improvement to deliver high quality, customer focused services.

This role combines hands on operational leadership with strategic planning, offering the opportunity to influence long term service delivery and community outcomes.

What We're Looking For Essential

• Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field
• Proven experience managing teams, budgets, and operational services
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and relevant legislation
• Experience in a multi disciplinary environment (preferably public sector)
• Full UK driving licence

Skills & Competencies

• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
• Highly organised, proactive, and solution focused
• Confident using digital systems and Microsoft Office
• Experience delivering change and service improvements

Desirable

• Health & Safety qualification
• Experience with operational or bespoke service software

• Working pattern includes weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis
• Flexibility required to respond to service needs and emergencies
