Public Procurement & State Aid Lawyer 2-6 PQE International Law Firm Birmingham

BCL Legal is pleased to be partnering with a top-tier international law firm in its search for a Public Procurement & State Aid Lawyer (2-6 years' PQE) to join its nationally recognised Competition, EU & Trade team in Birmingham.

The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a growing and high-performing team advising on some of the UK's most complex and high-value public procurement, UK subsidy control, and EU State aid matters.

As part of this team, you will:

Advise a diverse range of public and private sector clients on the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, the new Procurement Act 2023, and related regulatory frameworks.
Assist with complex procurement disputes, judicial review proceedings, and large-scale infrastructure projects.
Support clients on issues relating to UK subsidy control, EU State aid, and trade law-engaging with fast-evolving legal and policy developments.
Collaborate closely with colleagues across the UK and globally on cross-border matters and strategic projects.

Candidate Profile

We're looking for someone who:

Is a qualified solicitor with 2-6 years' PQE and experience (or a strong interest) in public procurement, state aid, or subsidy control.
Has strong drafting and analytical skills, and can deliver commercially focused, pragmatic legal advice.
Has a solid academic background and a genuine interest in legal and regulatory innovation.
Is collaborative, confident in client interaction, and keen to contribute to the wider success of the team.
