At Kirklees College we are always looking for new talent, and welcome applications from all sectors.
Whether in a teaching & learning role or in one of our specialised Business Support functions, you'll be involved in nurturing and developing the next generation of Creatives, Musicians, Producers, Designers and countless others.
We're already a successful college, but we're continually striving to be better and do better - be part of our story!
As a Lecturer in Music Production (Part-Time Staff), you will be based at our Waterfront Centre in Huddersfield, where you will play a key role in delivering an engaging, inspiring and industry-relevant curriculum to our learners.
Your responsibilities will include planning and delivering high-quality lessons, monitoring learner progress, providing constructive feedback, and working collaboratively with colleagues to drive continuous improvement across the department. You will teach across a range of music production disciplines, including digital music creation, recording, composition, sequencing, mixing and mastering, using industry-standard software, hardware and digital audio workstations (DAWs). You will support learners to develop both their technical expertise and creative practice, preparing them for progression into higher education or employment within the music and creative industries.
We're looking for someone with a Level 5 qualification in Music Production (or the ability to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and expertise), alongside relevant industry experience. You will have current knowledge of music production technologies and practices, be confident using industry-standard equipment and software, and be passionate about sharing your expertise with the next generation of music producers. You will be an effective communicator who can inspire and engage young people, work collaboratively as part of a team, and embody the College's values of Kindness, Unity, and Excellence in everything you do.
Due to the nature of our work, it's essential you're committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
We believe learning is not just for our students: it's an important part of working here too. Staff development opportunities include a mentoring scheme, financial contributions for external qualifications and skills development for current and aspiring managers. You'll also have access to a range of staff benefits including an employee assistance programme, retail and leisure discounts and reduced Metro travel.
We want people who believe in the value of education, and who can contribute to our culture of supporting and challenging one another.
