Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain valuable experience working with children with special educational needs? A specialist SEND school in Birmingham is seeking a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring educational psychologist, clinical psychologist, or SEN teacher to develop practical skills while making a real difference to the lives of young people.

The Role
As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, SEND staff, and support staff to help pupils access learning and achieve their individual targets. You will provide classroom support, deliver targeted interventions, and work with students on a 1-2-1 basis to develop their academic, social, and emotional skills. You will support pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, communication difficulties, moderate learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs.

The Candidate
This role is ideal for a recent Psychology graduate who is considering a career in educational psychology, clinical psychology, speech and language therapy, or SEN teaching. You should be patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting children with additional needs. Strong communication skills, empathy, and a positive attitude are essential. Previous experience working with children or vulnerable young people is beneficial but not essential.
