PSV Mechanic or PSV Mechanics Assistant

HGV/PCV Mechanic - Full-Time
Location: Ashton Keynes, Swindon
Salary: £28,000 - £40,000 per year

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated HGV/PCV Mechanic to join our team at our Ashton Keynes depot near Swindon. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a highly experienced mechanic in a supportive and collaborative environment.

We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to adapt and contribute as part of a small, dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities:

Carrying out vehicle maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a varied fleet
Preparing vehicles for MOTs
Ensuring prompt and high-standard repair of all defective vehicles
Maintaining vehicles in accordance with Operator Licence standards
Complying with all relevant health and safety regulations

Essential Skills & Experience:

Relevant engineering/mechanical qualifications (preferred but not essential if skills can be demonstrated)
Excellent diagnostic abilities
Strong understanding of vehicle electrics
Good knowledge of Department for Transport / DVSA maintenance standards

Desirable Personal Qualities:

Flexible, can-do attitude
Willingness to learn and develop new skills
Self-motivated with a responsible approach to safety
Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
Ability to work well within a team

Requirements:

Full car driving licence (required)
PCV licence (preferred but not essential)
