Job Overview
PSV Bus & Coach Mechanic
Pay: £17.00-£23.00 per hour
Liberty Coaches based in Cramlington, Northumberland with 50 vehicles of Varying types and sizes require a bus and coach Mechanic to join our team, reporting to the Engineering Manager you will be responsible for carrying out routine maintenance and repairs on all makes of buses, coaches and minibuses.
The job will require you to be competent in :
Diagnosing and rectifying all types vehicle faults, mechanical and electrical as well as driveline and engine related repairs and diagnostics.
Ensuring all vehicles are maintained and repaired to a high standard as per the DVSA requirements.
Vehicles worked upon must be handled carefully and the relevant precautions taken whilst on the premises in respect of safety and compliance.
You must actively ensure health & safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to.
Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness to your work area and vehicles is a must.
You'll be carrying out safety inspections to our fleet to a strict ISO week interval as well as prepare them to annual test standards.
You'll use the latest tech to Fault find and make a Diagnosis and subsequently rectify any faults.
All works are to be completed to DVSA standards and manuals whilst adhering to company policies.
The successful candidate should have:
Proven experience in mechanical repair on buses, coaches or minibuses
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot various systems under your own initiative.
Must be familiar with basic vehicle electrical systems and the ability to perform basic electrical repairs.
Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to safety practices within the workplace as well as a professional approach.
You must use the workshop systems to Monitor, record and evidence any rectification work or maintenance activities and training on this will be provided.
A PSV Driving licence is advantageous together with good time keeping, flexibility and a can do attitude.
You'll be required to work a mixture of shifts Monday to Saturday with alternate Saturdays being essential.
Previous experience is desirable with a proven track record as well as IRTEC accreditation is an advantage but not essential to this role.
Experience will determine the starting salary of this position.
