Finishing Operator

Location: Nantgarw CF15 7QU

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week (Sunday to Friday rotating shifts covering days, afternoons and nights)

The Finishing Operator takes printed reels of labels from the print press and slits them into individual rolls, ready for shipment to the customer. This is a vital role within our process as the Finishing Operator also plays an important part in the quality process by inspecting the labels for defects and they are the last pair of eyes on the product before the labels leave for the customer.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and down slitting and inspection machines, die cutting or slitting of printed master reels, ensuring timely operation.
• Quality inspection of finished products, packing, reworking, cutting cores, and removal of waste.
• Complete relevant paperwork and administration.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience operating machines within a manufacturing facility (label processing experience not required).
• Take responsibility for own work quality and effectiveness.
• Understand importance of working to health & safety guidelines.
• Good colour vision; not affected by strobe lighting.
