Protein Production Scientist-Bench to Automation

Substrate is building an AI-native automated lab that produces biological data at scale. This role focuses on bench protein science, from DNA design to QC, developing workflows that will eventually run on automation.

You will work with automation engineering and software teams, starting hands-on and growing into protocol authorship over twelve months. You'll contribute to SOPs, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help interview scientists joining the lab as the vertical expands.
