We are working with a leading South West law firm that is looking to recruit a proactive and detail-focused Property Risk Advisor.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of property law, legal compliance and risk management who enjoys supporting colleagues and promoting best practice. It may particularly appeal to an experienced property professional who would like to move away from fee earning while continuing to use their knowledge in an influential role.
The roleWorking closely with the Property, Business Services and Compliance teams, you will help identify and manage legal, regulatory and procedural risks. Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing property and business services transactions through the firm's risk review process.
- Identifying potential legal, regulatory and procedural risks.
- Providing colleagues with clear, practical guidance on risk and compliance matters.
- Recommending appropriate solutions where issues are identified.
- Monitoring trends and reporting risk or compliance concerns to departmental heads.
- Supporting the development of policies and procedures designed to reduce risk and improve compliance.
- Identifying training requirements and assisting with the delivery of internal training.
- Helping to ensure compliance with SRA, Lexcel and CQS requirements.
- Liaising with departmental heads and the Finance Partner regarding financial compliance or Solicitors Accounts Rules issues.
- Managing risk reviews within agreed timescales and supporting colleagues across the firm's office network.
You will have experience gained within a legal environment and a background in property law, compliance or risk management. You should also possess:
- A sound understanding of property transactions and their associated legal and regulatory risks.
- Knowledge of the SRA Standards and Regulations, Solicitors Accounts Rules, Lexcel and CQS requirements.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to provide constructive feedback and guidance.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
- The ability to work independently while developing positive relationships across multiple teams.
- An interest in coaching, mentoring and sharing knowledge with others.
Some travel between the firm's offices may be required.
