Job Title: Property Litigation Solicitor 1-5 PQE

Salary: up to £65K

Hours: full time

Location: Bath

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As a Property Litigation Solicitor, you'll handle a broad range of disputes involving both residential and commercial property. This includes landlord and tenant matters such as possession claims, rent arrears, lease breaches, and renewals, as well as issues around boundaries, rights of way, trespass, nuisance, and adverse possession.
  • You'll provide clear legal advice, draft court documents (including pleadings, letters before action, witness statements, and settlement agreements), and represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings.
  • Your role involves regular client contact, keeping them updated, explaining their options, and managing expectations on outcomes and costs. You'll work closely with barristers, surveyors, and other professionals where needed, and ensure that all deadlines, court procedures, and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Strong organisation is key, as you'll be responsible for maintaining accurate case records and helping cases run smoothly from start to finish.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent) with a minimum of 1 year PQE (Post-Qualification Experience) in property litigation.
  • Proven track record of managing a broad caseload of property disputes, ideally in both commercial and residential matters.
  • Solid understanding of landlord and tenant law, including lease renewal, possession claims, rent arrears, and service charge disputes.
  • Experience handling matters such as boundary disputes, rights of way, nuisance, trespass, and adverse possession is desirable.
  • Confident in drafting legal documents and managing cases from initial instruction through to completion.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients, colleagues, and third parties.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
