Job Description

£35,235 - £38,626 per year. (Grade 8) This a permanent, full-time (37 hours) position. Do you want to be involved with some of Swansea's most impactful projects in urban regeneration, property development, and public realm enhancement?

If you have previous experience of the planning, organising, prioritising and monitoring of development projects, then this is your opportunity to shape Swansea's future by joining our Development & Physical Regeneration team as a Project support officer (Permanent; Grade 8).

Join Swansea Council's Development & Physical Regeneration team to play a pivotal role in delivering transformative redevelopment projects that shape the city's future.

The team is responsible for high-profile schemes, including Copr Bay (featuring a 3,500-capacity arena, multi-storey car parks, residential accommodation, and a coastal park), 71/72 Kingsway (tech-focused office development), and other significant projects such as the forthcoming Castle Square Gardens redevelopment.

As a Project Support Officer, you'll contribute towards supporting the delivery of many aspects of regeneration projects, including developing, monitoring and maintaining project plans, project programmes, keeping documentation up to date, and all aspects of day-to-day project management.

As part of this forward-looking team with a diverse pipeline of new initiatives, you'll have the opportunity to work as part of a team on major schemes such as Swansea Central, the Civic Centre and Waterfront, and Hafod Copperworks, as well as implementing the upcoming Placemaking Plan for the City centre.

Project management skills, knowledge of planning, development and construction projects would be beneficial.

You'll have strong communication skills to successfully engage with colleagues, stakeholders, senior decision-makers, and Councillors, along with an awareness of Council policies, statutory obligations, and funding opportunities.

The post will be primarily based at the Civic Centre in an agile environment, with hybrid and flexible working.
