Job Description

Location: Belfast, with regular travel throughout Ireland and Great Britain

Company Overview

This contractor has over 30 years' experience delivering utilities and civil engineering projects across Ireland and the UK. Their work includes EV charging infrastructure, telecoms networks, utilities upgrades and associated civilswork.

The business operates on a number of major frameworks for both private and public sector clients and has built a strong reputation for reliable delivery and long-term client relationships.

The commercial team is well established with clear procedures in place, and the culture across the business is collaborative and delivery focused.

The Opportunity

This role would suit a Quantity Surveyor with around three or more years' experience who is looking to take on greater responsibility and progress within a structured commercial team.

You will work closely with the Senior QS in Ireland and project teams regionally to manage the commercial aspects of several live projects across the utilities and infrastructure sector.

Responsibilities
  • Managing the commercial performance of projects and monitoring project costs
  • Procuring subcontractors, materials and plant
  • Managing variations and contractual notices
  • Measurement, valuation and preparation of applications for payment
  • Preparing cost reports and assisting with CVRs
  • Supporting project meetings and liaising with clients and subcontractors
  • Assisting with final accounts
Requirements
  • Minimum three years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role
  • Experience in utilities, civil engineering, telecoms or infrastructure projects would be beneficial
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience) (7+ years)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage workload independently
  • Comfortable working with site teams, suppliers and subcontractors
