Project Quality Manager

My client, a top Civil & Marine Engineering contractor in Cork are now searching for a Project Quality Manager for a large-scale project. This is a full-time permanent position.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of quality inspectors, engineers and coordinators.
• Oversee daily inspections and testing of construction materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to construction teams on quality standards, inspection procedures and best practices.
• Coordinate with construction management, design teams and subcontractors to resolve quality issues and ensure project goals are achieved.
• Maintain thorough records of inspections, tests, certifications, and non-conformance reports(NCRs).
• To review, audit and monitor the implementation of the project quality plan and procedures.
• Provide a progress report to the client and project management.
• Ensure the development, implementation, and audit of complex inspection and test plans, standards and acceptance criteria, and work instructions.
• Ensuring audits are undertaken in accordance with the audit schedule.
• Investigate and lead investigations into non-conformances and corrective actions.
• Provide guidance and assistance on Quality matters to all staff on site.
• Work with clients to ensure that Quality standards & procedures are successfully submitted, approved & implemented.
• Undertake regular walk-through Inspections of the site works to identify and report any quality compliance concerns.
• To coordinate the resolution of all matters pertaining to Quality.
• Implement a structured approach towards systems handover / project completion.
• Effective communication with clients and the project team.

Requirements

• Must have a third level qualification
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of direct experience in construction related quality management systems
• Experience on construction projects
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and standards.
• Excellent organizational, problem solving and analytical skills
• Must have demonstrated knowledge of ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems - requirements) international standard or equivalent and shall be able to exercise judgment against the criteria of the standard.
• Must have experience in inspection, testing and quality control for major civil engineering work.
• Preferably will have experience in material testing on civil engineering projects
• Must have excellent oral and written communication capabilities
• Must have a full driving license
