The BBC Product Operations team is offering an exciting apprenticeship opportunity for a Project Coordinator to support a wide range of portfolio delivery activities. This role provides hands on experience in project coordination, governance, and delivery contributing to impactful initiatives across the BBC, such as Digital Accessibility and Audience Experiences at Scale.
As an apprentice, you'll work closely with experienced professionals to manage reporting, approvals, and stakeholder communications, while developing core skills in risk management, data analysis, executive support, and project processes. This is a unique opportunity to build a strong foundation in project management and make a meaningful contribution to the BBC's mission.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACTAs a Project Manager Apprentice with the BBC Product Operations team, you'll work with experienced professionals and contribute to impactful projects.
- Prepare executive briefings, reports, and audit materials
- Organise governance and assurance documentation
- Track and resolve risks, issues, and actions
- Support meetings, reporting deadlines, and stakeholder communications
You'll study for your industry recognised apprenticeship qualification, learning both on the job at the BBC and off the job with our chosen education provider. The academic study involves attending instructor led workshops, tutorial sessions, practical and library based research, presentations, group work and real world simulated projects.
The apprenticeship programme is structured across 3 learning levels:
- Level 4: Covers Business Environment, Stakeholder Management, and Project Planning & Control
- Level 5: Focuses on Project Management Professionalism and Professional Development
- Level 6: Includes Programme & Portfolio Management, Project Leadership & Governance, and Change & Risk Management
The programme concludes with an integrated End Point Assessment (EPA).
During your apprenticeship, you'll work towards a BSc (Hons) Level 6 degree in Project Management, alongside earning the APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) - a respected industry certification. Upon successful completion, you'll be eligible to apply for full membership with the Association for Project Management (APM). This qualification opens doors to roles such as Project Coordinator, Business Assistant, or Business Coordinator, both within the BBC and across other organisations.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIATo be eligible for an apprenticeship at the BBC, you must:
- Be 18 years old or over by the time the apprenticeship begins in September 2026
- Have lived in the UK continuously for the last 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeship
- Be legally eligible to work full time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship
- Not currently be enrolled in another apprenticeship programme, whether with the BBC or another organisation
- Not have completed or hold qualifications in the apprenticeship subject at the same or higher level
To apply for this scheme, you must also:
- Have, or expect to have, maths and English GCSEs or National 5 (Scotland) at 9-4 (A-C) or an equivalent qualification
- Have, or expect to have, a Level 3 qualification(s) that equate to 96 UCAS points. This could be: - A Levels - 3 Cs or above in any subject
- An advanced apprenticeship, BTEC or NVQ - considered if it equates to 96 UCAS points (check your qualification here)
 
For candidates under the age of 19 years on 8th September 2026: to complete the apprenticeship, you must have achieved Maths and English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above or National 5 (Scotland) at C or Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent qualification. If you have not achieved these qualifications by the start of your apprenticeship, you will be required to achieve Functional Skills Level 2 before the end of your apprenticeship when you take your end point assessment.
