Project Manager - Construction

Can you be the driving force as our Construction Project Manager (No1) delivering one of our school project schemes in the West Sussex area? The project is valued at £60 million.

We require an experienced construction professional who is well versed in the delivery of a project from cradle to grave, with the ability to work as No1 on the project. This project embodies our commitment to sustainability and innovative design, incorporating low carbon, sustainable materials and a concrete frame. We will also adopt an enhanced quality construction approach through consistent off-site manufacturing to reduce waste and defects.

Job Purpose & Scope:

You will be solely responsible for the economic and safe management of the site, ensuring progress, workmanship, health, safety, environmental, and quality standards by effectively managing labor, plant, materials, and subcontractors to meet contract requirements.

Skills and Experience:

• Degree or equivalent in Engineering or Construction
• Extensive experience with a main contractor
• Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and H&S laws
• Leadership and financial control skills with proven technical knowledge
• Results-oriented and stress management skills
• High standards of quality and prioritization of H&S matters
• Innovative, with the ability to implement new methods for better efficiency

General Duties:

Responsibility for health, safety, and environmental management in accordance with the Health and Safety Management System. Liaise with the appointed H&S Advisor when necessary.

Lead by example, maintaining high standards in all relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Manage subcontractors and suppliers through proper selection and oversight to optimize project outcomes.

Coordinate with commercial and procurement teams to safeguard the company's financial and contractual interests.

Ensure adherence to all company standards and processes laid out in the Business Quality Management System.

Manage all disciplines involved in the project, including surveying, design management, buying, planning, HR, health, safety, and environment.
